    Uggies

I like shoes and boots just like any other normal girl. In fact probably more. You know you have a problem when most of your birthday cards have a shopping or shoe theme :o

Anyhoo..I don't get the uggies phenomenon. Why are these popular? Why are we pretending like we're all Australian or Scandanavian or something? What's going to happen when the weather finally decides to warm up? I'm all for people wearing what they want to..I just don't understand how some clothing item becomes so popular that they are on back order for eons and cost hundreds of dollars. Well...maybe Jimmy Choo boots...

It's been eons and I'm ok..busy as all get out. I'm pretty much 3 steps forward and 2 steps back which is ok because there is a balance somewhere. I've settled into journaling daily and having a couple "treats" every week which works out. I think over time it may even feel a bit more natural. Right now it still feels a bit forced and I'm still cringing when people are filling up the Easter candy dishes around me. 1 cadbury egg ok, 12 not ok :)

I've been promising updates in like forever and I'm going to stop promising, but will get there eventually. I guess taking a picture of yourself is not so important when youre not scrutinizing for any mark of progress. I think my buddha is a bit fuller (which could be due to the extra treats now and again..have to watch that), but my butt and legs are rock hard..wee yaa. I've been struggling through bow and arrow stepping in kung fu which is this crazy ass stance that kills your butt cheeks and your thighs which only promises more rock hardness. I figure I'll be the only chick on the planet with jiggly belly flesh and legs of steel.

Then again, there are worse things in life.

Today so far I've eaten (I've been up since 5am):

    kashi and skim milk
WW italian bread with a leftover ground chicken burger
WW italian bread with tuna and a wild greens salad with tomatoes and pickle
a small lentil and red pepper soup (most yummy)
    1 mini reese cup

the rest of the day looks like something with pork tenderloin with some broccoli and butterscotch protein pudding for dessert. I try to cut back on the carb stuff towards nighttime..I just feel better that way.

I usually don't eat so much processed stuff, but I'm digging the WW breads. The sliced breads are 1 pt for two slices...my favorite as you can see is Italian. It's actually got some consistency unlike other low calorie bread. I also like the bagels a lot...those are 3 points for real sized bagels (not nyc size which are humungo). The only thing I cannot recommend are the 1 pt english muffins...I've tasted better.

I've just been on a sandwich and soup kick lately ergo the bread. I'm kinda looking forward to the weather warming up and being in the salad kind of mood.

Take care everyone and stay strong!

    Confessions of a magazine junkie

I used to think the I just loved food and that was the reason why you had to chain me down everytime passing a Hudson Newstand. I love the mini cookbooks and the glossy cooking magazines with the fancy pictures. Never mind that I would never have the time nor the calories to eat the likes of Gourmet and Bon Appetit everynight..a gal can dream can't she?

But then there was a subtle shift..my magazines shifted to more fitness oriented. Muscle Media was a staple, but impulse buys would include Energy, Oxygen, Fitness RX, Weight Watchers, Self etc..

And again a shift...I'm big into apartment decorating just now so I have all these Trading space type mags litering my bedroom floor. The week before I got my tat I picked up an International Tattoo and now with my newfound interest in scrapbooking, I have picked up a few (along with some gift mags from a dear friend!) along with a copy of Money Mag with tax season well under way.

And then I just admit it...I'm a magazine ho. There is something about the little sound bites of information making me feel like I'm onto the latest groundbreaking news, be it mutual funds or online shoe shopping. I love the glossy pages and heck I even like the advertising..it's a great way to get ideas or see things you like where you can then go and research the cheapest and best way to obtain that dream.

This has nothing to do with weight loss ..it's just another part of me.

And along this vein I present to you my latest self discovery brought on by my husband's fondness for war and soldiers.

    Which Space Marine am I?
